Sows have been kept in constant development in recent years. The performance level in piglet production has risen steadily in parallel with the milk quantity and quality of the sows. In order to tap the full potential of the high-performance animals, a supply in line with performance and demand is required. Classic feeding concepts reach their limits here. With the digest concept of the deuka
brand, Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer presents an advanced feeding concept for high-performance sows in pregnancy and lactation.
"Due to the increasingly fertile genetics and the resulting higher performance of the animals, the demands on sow feed have risen steadily," says Christina Jesse, Head of the Pig Division at Deutsche Tiernahrung Cremer. "The new digest concept covers all requirements of high performance sows and is therefore our innovative feeding answer for modern farms". As a comprehensive concept, digest is available as a pregnancy and lactation feed. The carefully matched component frame counteracts stress and digestive problems during feed change and thus ensures a problem-free transfer to the farrowing pen.
The lactation feed lactosan digest improves the milk yield of lactating sows and maximises the weaning weight of the piglets. By taking into account the precaecal digestible amino acids, the crude protein content could be adapted exactly to the sows' needs. Lowering the crude protein level results in a faster acidification of the feed in the stomach and therefore faster emptying into the intestine. This increases the sows' feed intake capacity. An improvement in milk yield is achieved by adding valine, among other things. The good digestibility of the free amino acid maximises the nutrient efficiency and protein digestibility of this modern premium feed.
gravisan digest is a highly vitaminised pregnancy feed. In addition to a complete supply for pregnant sows, it aims to maintain an optimal condition of the animals and supports the birth of vital piglets. The fibre mix in gravisan digest contains an optimal combination of soluble and insoluble fibres. The high water-binding capacity of the insoluble fibres stimulates intestinal peristalsis and improves manure drainage. This prevents the spread of pathogenic germs in the intestine. Soluble fibres provide an optimal nutritional basis for the flora of the colon, which increases its resistance to external influences. The addition of medium-chain fatty acids helps to prevent the spread of streptococci and clostridia. Added endotoxin binders have positive effects on preventing inflammation in the uterus and mammary glands.
The production and delivery of digest feed has been taking place since August 2020 and the products are initially available from selected plants. Farmers and dairy farmers in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia as well as in parts of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse can purchase the modern premium feeds for high-performance sows.
