Detlef Kampf
Dr. Detlef Kampf is the new Head of Animal Nutrition at DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society).
He succeeds Dr. Walter Staudacher, who retired at the end of October 2017.
Kampf (45) comes from a former farm in Thuringia in the east of Germany. On completing his training as a skilled livestock production worker, he studied Nutritional Sciences with a focus on the nutritional physiology of livestock at the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena. After obtaining his doctorate at the Institute of Animal Nutrition at the then Federal Agricultural Research Centre (FAL) in Braunschweig-Völkenrode, he moved to the feed industry where he worked both in Germany and abroad in various technical functions (mineral feed, feed additives).
In his most recent position as Head of Cattle Farming at the Futterkamp Teaching and Test Centre of the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, he was responsible for all tasks connected with basic, advanced and continuing training. He attached particular importance to testing with regard to dairy cattle feeding and feed consultancy services.
