The German Association of Feed Producers (Deutscher Verband Tiernahrung, DVT) awards the DVT Award 2018 to Alexander Döring, Secretary General of FEFAC, the European Association of Compound Feed Manufacturers. DVT President Jan Lahde thanked him for his extraordinary commitment to the animal feed industry: "Alexander Döring is at the forefront of the international and European arena in order to defend the interests of the industry. Often this work has also meant crisis management over the last 25 years. With each event, he devised a plan to prevent such events from happening in the future." Lahde paid tribute, above all, to Döring's excellent understanding of the sector and law, his diplomatic skills, and extensive knowledge of administrative and political processes.

"Outstanding contacts in parliaments, to institutions such as the European Commission, to international organizations and to the respective national members as well as the ability to communicate and understand each other in many different languages ​​- this is what characterizes Alexander Döring". He has been actively involved in the radical transformation of European food and feed law and in the gradual expansion of FEFAC. Döring also keeps the entire European feed industry on track for its quality management and sustainability activities.

Agricultural scientist Alexander Döring (55), who studied in Bonn, started his career after several stays abroad in Brussels at the European Association of Flour Mills, before being appointed Secretary General of FEFAC in 1994 as successor to André Namur.
