The new Managing Director of the German Pet Food Association (Deutscher Verband Tiernahrung e.V.) (DVT)
will be Dr Michael Lüke as of 1 January 2022. He will familiarise himself with his duties in the following months until Peter Radewahn retires at the end of 2022.
Thus, as of 1 January 2022, the Executive Board will consist of the Spokesman of the Executive Board, Dr Hermann-Josef Baaken, and the two Managing Directors, Peter Radewahn and Dr Michael Lüke.

Michael Lüke, born in 1964 in Bonn, successfully completed his studies in agricultural sciences, specialising in animal production, at the University of Bonn from 1985-1989 and then did his doctorate on emission reduction in pig fattening under Prof. Dr. Franz Schmitten at the Institute of Animal Breeding Sciences. Afterwards he changed to the preparatory service for the career of the higher agricultural service in North Rhine-Westphalia and completed it in 1995 as an assessor to start his professional career first at the advisory service for dairy cattle and fodder production, Backnang, as a farm advisor. From 1996 onwards, he took on various advisor functions at the Rhineland Chamber of Agriculture (later North Rhine-Westphalia) as well as the management of the Rhineland Poultry Farming Association, which later merged into the North Rhine-Westphalia Poultry Farming Association. In 2013, he moved to Lohmann Tierzucht GmbH, Technical Service, in Cuxhaven. Since 2015, he has been responsible for Group Coordinator Communication/Animal Welfare at EW GROUP GmbH, Visbek. Dr Lüke holds a lectureship at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen. He is married, has two grown-up children and lives with his family in Bonn.
