Brenntag invests in Poland

Brenntag, the global leader in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients, is expanding its site in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland. With this investment in production efficiency, capacity and capability, the company is increasing its level of service to customers in the feed and pet food industry.

The planned measures, which are to be implemented by the end of 2022, include a new production line and an expansion of the warehouse. This expansion is in line with the company's growth plans for the Brenntag Specialties global business unit.

Wouter Vullings, Director Animal Nutrition EMEA: "Thanks to our customers' continued trust in our solutions for the feed and pet food industry, this investment is possible. Brenntag developed its first products for this industry in Poland in 1999. Over the past 22 years, we have expanded our production capabilities and capacity. As a result, the plant in Poland has developed into a highly efficient production facility serving customers in almost 40 countries worldwide. This investment plan supports our long-term strategic goal of expanding our presence as a leading solutions provider for customers in the feed industry in the EMEA region."

The site in Kędzierzyn-Koźle is one of eight production facilities in Europe where Brenntag manufactures premixes for the feed and pet food industry. These products include premixes to protect raw materials against yeast and mold growth, prevent contamination with bacteria, promote intestinal health in animals, prevent oxidation of fats and oils or produce solid solutions of liquid ingredients. All this leads to a reduction in feed waste. The products thus contribute to the company's sustainability goal of increasing resource efficiency throughout the value chain. At its Polish plant, Brenntag manufactures both liquid and solid solutions under the most stringent, globally recognized quality control systems: FamiQS and GMP+.

Tomasz Kowalik, Application Development Manager Animal Nutrition EMEA, says: "We have been experiencing very high demand for dry premixes for some time. The investment in our site in Poland is therefore a fitting opportunity to better meet the ever-increasing market demands and individual needs of our customers. The planned expansion includes increasing our production capacity, extending our portfolio to other product types and improving production and process automation."

Frank Haven, President Nutrition EMEA, says: "As consumers, we come into contact with food of animal origin or enjoy our pets almost every day. Brenntag's products play an important role in our daily lives. Therefore, I am very pleased that our Animal Nutrition business has undergone an impressive development and successfully evolved into a comprehensive solution provider."
