Poultry specialist joins Azelis

Azelis, a supplier of specialty feeds to the poultry and swine sectors, is strengthening its animal nutrition team with the addition of Iain Campbell.

With nearly 10 years of national feed compounder business development experience focused on the UK pig and poultry industry, Campbell first joined Azelis as technical sales manager. He has according to Poultry News an HND in Poultry Production from Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and is currently completing his Poultry Science degree at Edinburgh University.

Broad portfolio
Azelis is a Luxembourg-based conglomerate with sales of around €2.2 billion in 2020 from its Life Sciences, which includes animal nutrition, and Industrial Chemicals businesses. Life science products accounted for more than half of the group's sales, at around €1.38 billion.

Azelis was formed in 2001 through the merger of Novorchem (Italy) and Arnaud (France). Since then, the group has continuously expanded its business areas through acquisitions and offers feed additives, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, additives for the food industry, and fine chemicals and additives for electronics and plastics production, among other products.

The focus of the business today is Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In the EMEA region, Azelis is represented in 41 countries and has more than 30 application laboratories. In Asia Pacific, Azelis has been present in China, India and Australia since 2005. Azelis in the Americas (Canada, USA and Mexico) was formed in 2015 following the acquisition of KODA Distribution Group, which established Azelis as a global distributor of specialty chemicals.

Ruth Carter, Azelis animal nutrition market manager, said: “We’re delighted to have Iain join the team at Azelis. In combination with his national feed compounder experience, Iain brings a solid feed trials technical background to the role, having also spent three years of his career at the SRUC Avian Science Centre in Scotland. Iain has built a respected industry reputation as a trusted, practical nutritional advisor in the commercial pig, broiler, laying hen, turkey and duck production markets.”
