Georg Dusel, Professor of Animal Nutrition and Animal Health at the Technical University of Bingen, was awarded the Academy Award of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate on 28 November 2019 in the Academy of Sciences and Literature, Mainz for exemplary achievements in teaching and research.
Dusel is one of the pioneers in the field of animal nutrition and animal health, since 2004 he teaches at the TH Bingen and has built up a working group with 18 scientific assistants as well as technical staff and corresponding laboratory equipment. With practice-oriented teaching methods, it has a formative effect on the students; its high level of commitment to the promotion and training of junior scientists is reflected, among other things, in the above-average number of study and exam papers. Professor Dusel has a very good international network and is in contact with many universities around the world. These cooperations allow his students temporary research stays at internationally renowned universities. In the past five years alone, he has succeeded in acquiring more than € 3 million in third-party funding for research projects.

Prof. Dr. agr. Georg Dusel graduated from the Fachhochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in 1988 after completing his agricultural vocational training. In 1994, he graduated as an agronomy engineer. He then moved to the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where he received his doctorate in 1998 in the field of animal nutrition. From 1998 to 2000 he worked as a Post Doc at the University of Manitoba (Canada). He also taught as a visiting professor at the University of Alberta (Canada). From 2001 to 2004 he was Head of Product Development and Science Optimization at Muskator Futtermittel in Düsseldorf. Since 2004 he is Professor of Animal Nutrition and Animal Health at the Technical University of Bingen.
