The quality scheme QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH is funding five further research projects with a total amount of € 119000.
One of these is a project at the University of Munich (LMU) which is expected to supply urgently needed findings on the effectiveness and tolerance of local anaesthesia in piglet castration. Other projects being supported include:
“Optimising hygiene measures to combat Listeria monocytogenes in meat-producing plants” (Fulda University of Applied Sciences)
“Research into the effectiveness of surface disinfection in animal housing” (University of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover)
“Research into the practicability and animal welfare aspects of raised levels in piglet rearing” (University of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover).
Since they were established in the year 2012, two QS Science Funds have allocated funds totalling € 680000.
