The Victam International and VIV Europe trade fair in Utrecht was held again this year for the first time in presence. Visitors, exhibitors and organizers are satisfied. Despite the Covid pandemic and the Ukraine war, the number of visitors has increased compared to 2019.

VICTAM International and GRAPAS Europe, held jointly with VIV Europe from May 31 to June 2 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands, was the first major feed technology and grain milling event organized after the Covid pandemic. "It was an anxious time in the run-up to the show due to the uncertain course of the Covid pandemic around the world," says Sebas van de Ende, general manager of Victam Corporation. "Unfortunately, due to this prolonged uncertainty, some exhibitors did not participate. The war in Ukraine also affected the participation of a number of exhibitors and visitors."

According to Victam, visitors to the 2022 edition were very pleased with the number of exhibitors and the wide range of products on display, as well as the extensive conference program. There were 246 exhibitors from 27 countries present. Exhibitors also commented on the very high quality of visitors and the wide range of countries they came from. Over 7,000 visitors were counted during the three days of the show, a significantly higher number than in 2019, with the majority of visitors coming from Europe, according to the organizer. Due to the Covid pandemic and the Ukraine conflict, fewer visitors came from Asia and Russia.

In addition, several exhibitors such as Kahl, Buehler, KSE, Van Aarsen, PremierTech, Clextral, Promtek, Seid and Altline presented technical seminars in the dedicated theater on the exhibition floor. To spotlight all the innovations presented at the event, two innovation awards were presented at the event: the Animal Feed Technology & Nutrition Awards (AFTAN) and the GRAPAS Innovation Awards.

The winners of the GRAPAS award are:

- Buhler with the Arrius integrated grinding system.

- Henry Simon for the HSPU Purifier

- the RollCare Profile Measurement from Yenar

The winners of the Animal Feed Technology & Nutrition Awards (AFTAN) are:

- the M007 Cooler from Agentis Innovations

- the heat recovery of dryers by Famsun

- Lube for Life Rolls by CPM

- Aquafeed: the SJPS156 twin screw extruder by Famsun
